On May 28, coinciding with the approach of the 9th “National Science and Technology Workers’ Day” and the “Ningbo Science and Technology Week,” the Science and Technology Association of CSI Group convened its first membership representative meeting of the third term, conducting a leadership election and organising science popularisation activities. Attendees included Shi Ying, Vice Chair of the Ningbo Association for Science and Technology (NAST), Du Xiaohua, Investigator from the NAST Innovation Department, and Kuai Qihong, Vice Chair of the Jiangbei District Association for Science and Technology. A total of 117 representatives of science and technology workers from the CSI Group’s member enterprises elected the new leadership of the Association via secret ballot, with Wu Jie, Party Secretary and General Manager of CSI Group, re-elected as Chairman of the Association.
Scientific and technological innovation is the core driving force behind high-quality enterprise development. To effectively integrate scientific and technological resources across all segments of CSI group and enhance its overall innovation capability and technological influence, with the approval of the CSI Group’s Party Committee, the original “Ningbo CSI Power & Machinery Group Co., Ltd. Science and Technology Association” was renamed the “Ningbo CSI Group Science and Technology Association.” This marks the expansion of the Association from a single power sector to full coverage of the CSI Group’s entire industrial chain, including vacuum and injection moulding sectors.
The conference, focusing on the coordinated strategy of “Big Science and Big Association,” reviewed and adopted the revised Charter of the CSI Group Science and Technology Association. The newly elected committee includes Wu Jie, Lou Hua, Liu Kaimin, He Haibin, Chen Xiaozhou, Gu Junhui, Zhou Feng, Wang Lei, Miao Lianxin, Jiang Libo, Ji Hongwei, Shibayama Koji, and Chen Meng. Wu Jie serves as Chairman, with Lou Hua, Liu Kaimin, He Haibin, and Chen Xiaozhou as Vice Chairmen. Dr.He Haibin also serves as Secretary-General.
In his inaugural speech, Wu Jie, the newly elected Chair, emphasised that the role is not only an honour but also a weighty responsibility. He expressed gratitude for the support from the Ningbo Municipal and Jiangbei District Associations for Science and Technology and the trust of all Committee members and representatives. He stressed that the Association is a home for science and technology workers, and the new leadership must foster a warm, harmonious, and collaborative environment, take responsibility for talent cultivation, education, and growth, and adhere to the mission of serving technology, enterprises, and talent. By keeping abreast of national policies and industrial trends, focusing on CSI Group’s medium- to long-term development strategy, strengthening industry-academia-research collaboration, and driving industrial upgrading, the Association will advance the enterprise’s growth. Talent is the primary factor in development, and the Association will build more innovation platforms, stimulate technological creativity, improve incentive mechanisms, and encourage young professionals to take on significant roles. Efforts will be made to create an atmosphere conducive to innovation, transforming ideas into tangible outcomes and accelerating the growth of young talent. “Prosperity in technology leads to enterprise prosperity; strength in innovation drives development.” Wu Jie called on all science and technology workers to view the leadership transition as a new starting point, working together with heightened determination and a pragmatic approach to write a new chapter in CSI Group’s technological innovation.
Vice Chairman Shi Ying extended congratulations on behalf of the Ningbo Association for Science and Technology and greetings to science and technology workers on their holiday. She fully recognised the CSI power’s achievements in green and low-carbon marine power technology R&D, results transformation, and talent development over the years. She praised the CSI Group’s efforts to expand science-technology integration across its industrial segments via the Association platform, and its strategic layout of “Big Science and Big Association.” She encouraged the company to focus on cutting-edge fields, strengthen independent innovation in core technologies, deepen cross-sector cooperation to promote the transformation of scientific research achievements, nurture young science and technology talent, and build a vibrant innovation ecosystem—climbing to new heights and contributing more to Ningbo’s ambition to become a global ocean hub and an innovation-driven city.
In recent years, CSI Group, leveraging platforms such as the National Enterprise Technology Centre and a national postdoctoral workstation, has concentrated on key areas such as marine power equipment, vacuum technology, and intelligent moulding machinery. It has organised critical core technology R&D efforts and continuously enhanced its independent innovation capabilities, achieving significant results in technical breakthroughs, domestic substitution, and industry standard-setting. The power division has successfully developed new energy engines, including methanol, ammonia fuel, micro-ignition, and pure gas models. A V-type engine with a continuous power output of 12,240 HP has been successfully launched. The “Key Technology Research and Demonstration Application of Marine Methanol Engines” project was selected for the provincial “Pioneer” program. As the lead contributor, CSI Group has again received provincial and municipal first prizes for science and technology progress.
ULVAC has won government quality and innovation development awards and was selected as a “first set in China” equipment manufacturer and a provincial enterprise technology centre, and a high-tech enterprise R&D centre. Fu Chun Shin（FCS）celebrated its 50th anniversary and fully launched its new Hangzhou Bay factory, rolling out the world’s first GW-2200RP super-large five-shot two-platen multi-component injection moulding machine. The fifth-generation FB-R multi-component injection moulding machine won the 2025 Ringier Technology Innovation Award.
Moving forward, the newly elected Association will continue to unite and mobilise the innovation power of over a thousand science and technology workers, implement the “Big Science, Big Association” strategy, further integrate technological resources, build a cross-industry and multi-platform innovation mechanism, and drive technology transformation and ecosystem construction. It will enhance the CSI Group’s innovation capabilities, inject momentum into diversified industrial development, and make greater contributions to building a technologically strong nation and promoting high-quality development in manufacturing.
