China Internal Combustion Engine Society Zhejiang Innovation Center inauguration and green low-carbon power technology forum in Ningbo

Ningbo, China – August 15 – Hosted by CSI Group, the “Low-Carbon Navigation, Creating the Future” event, including the inauguration of the China Internal Combustion Engine Society (CICE) Zhejiang Innovation Center and the First Forum on Advanced Green and Low-Carbon Internal Combustion Power, was successfully held in Ningbo.

The event was attended by Li Shusheng, Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Internal Combustion Engine Society; Xie Jun, Deputy District Mayor of Jiangbei District, Ningbo; Dai Xuerong, Director of Jiangbei District Science and Technology Bureau; Qiu Jianyong, Deputy General Manager of CCS Zhejiang Branch; experts and scholars from Zhejiang University and Tongji University; and representatives from Zhejiang Internal Combustion Engine Society, Baima Lake Laboratory, Ningbo Association for Science and Technology, and Jiangbei District Government; as well as over one hundred representatives from the internal combustion engine industry.

A Major Step for Collaborative Innovation

Wu Jie, Party Secretary and General Manager of CSI Group and Chairman of CSI Power, delivered a welcome speech. He emphasized that in the face of complex international challenges and rapid technological transformation, developing new quality productivity has become central to driving high-quality economic growth.

The establishment of the CICE (Zhejiang) Innovation Center is an important step in responding to national strategies and promoting industrial advancement. It demonstrates the recognition of Zhejiang’s industrial foundation and the confidence in CSI’s innovation capacity. The center will leverage CICE’s academic leadership and expert think tank, integrate resources from the Zhejiang Internal Combustion Engine Society and Baima Lake Laboratory, and focus on Zhejiang’s strong industrial base and application scenarios. It aims to become a “conversion hub” for industrial challenges, a “power hub” for industrialization of scientific achievements, and an “empowerment hub” for innovation resources and high-end talent – contributing to the high-quality development and technological self-reliance of China’s power industry.

Government and Industry Support

Deputy District Mayor Xie Jun congratulated the inauguration of the CICE (Zhejiang) Innovation Center. He expressed his hope that the center will bring in top-tier expertise and strengthen collaboration between academia and industry, accelerating the transformation of research outcomes into market applications and advancing Jiangbei’s vision of “technology empowering industry, green leading the future.”

Representatives from the Zhejiang Internal Combustion Engine Society and Baima Lake Laboratory also delivered speeches. The event featured the unveiling ceremony of the CICE (Zhejiang) Innovation Center and the signing of cooperation agreements. Appointments were presented to the members of the Center’s Council and Academic Committee.

Forum on Advanced Low-Carbon Technologies

The subsequent technical forum featured keynote speeches from leading experts:

  • Professor Lou Diming of Tongji University presented on “Advances in High-Power Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine Development.”
  • Professor Yu Xiaoli of Zhejiang University delivered a talk on “Design Theory and Application of Cylinder Head Thermal Reliability.”

The forum shared cutting-edge research on internal combustion power and explored innovation paths for empowering industrial development through technology.

Following the forum, the CICE (Zhejiang) Innovation Center convened its first Council and Academic Committee meeting. The event received strong support from CICE, Zhejiang University, the Zhejiang Internal Combustion Engine Society, Baima Lake Laboratory, and government departments at both municipal and district levels.

The successful launch of the Innovation Centre and the first forum mark a new milestone in collaborative efforts to advance green, low-carbon, and high-quality development in internal combustion power technology.
